Bind Up The Strongman Of Fear!

"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love." (1 John 4: 18) Fear is the single most powerful and damaging weapon that the enemy and his cohorts uses against the saints of God to perforate and penetrate our faith in God. It is powerful enough to attack a believer's peace, his/her vision and faith while its slow release of intoxicating poisonous venomous effects seeps through the mind, and eventually cause one to abort his/her purpose in life, derail their divine destinies, before he brings about his final assault of assassination on hope of the future and faith in God. Fear is so powerful that it can cause paralysis of the mind and unless a person is delivered from it, it becomes a stronghold in the life of the individual for life.

Satan knows that you must have faith in God for His promises to come to pass in your life. If he can get you to doubt God, he will accomplish his goal of keeping you out of God's will for your life and cause you to miss your blessings. But all believers have a choice. You have a choice whether to take up God's weaponry and His spiritual arsenal (His word) and launch a counter attack upon the kingdom of darkness by releasing words of faith from your mouth into the causal realm of the spirit. It is these words of faith that breaks demonic strongholds, that breaks the powers of darkness and binds up the strongman of fear causing it to give way to the light of Jesus in you to shine through to reveal the mysteries of God's perfect will and plan for your life.

God made it absolutely clear in His word that He did not give us a spirit of fear, but one of power, of love and a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7) Fear comes from the devil and by listening to his negative thoughts, he then manipulates and translates them into negative words, (what you say) which are then followed by negative and defeating actions (what you do).So by all means, guard your ear gates, your eye gates and your mouth gate. Check your connections of who you are allowing to speak into your ears.

I am embarrassed to even admit this, but it took me many years before I personally realized that my life was once controlled by a spirit of fear. To make matters worst, sister anxiety tagged along for the ride. You see, I was once in a very abusive relationship. I kept it to myself for a long time and each day would try to figure out a way of escape from it. Later on, I somehow felt I had come up with the perfect plan for the escape until one day I began to listen to the voice of reasoning that told me I was never going to make it out there in life on my own should I get out of that relationship.....The spirit of fear and manipulation actually told me how much it hated me. I subsequently began to feel so inadequate, it left me with a spirit of low self-esteem to the point that I could not even look at myself in the mirror. But God......He delivered me as He began to reveal Himself to me in such remarkable ways and filled my heart to overflowing with His peace and His perfect love.

According to the word of God, faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. You must be willing to surrender your will to God and feed your spirit man, your heart and mind with His word. To bind up the strongman of fear, exercise the power and the authority that God has given you through His word. The world systems operate by fear. It says that you have to be educated, have a college degree, etc, but know that pleasing God in His Kingdom means operating in a spirit of faith. (Hebrews 11:6

It is that which you fear the most is that which will follow you. "For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me." (Job 3:25) Faith needs love in order for it to be most effective, not just to please God but it is of absolute necessity in pulling your blessings from the spirit realm so that they begin to manifest in the earth realm. Remember, as you seek God's peace in your life, there is no fear in love for perfect love cast out all fear. Again, bind up the strongman of fear!

Persevere In The Faith

Just recently, I opened my email to an article written by Dr. Cindy Trimm. The title caption of the article came in the form of a question as this, "How Will You Be Remembered?" The truth be told, I read the entire article but never took the time out to do the self-introspection to come up with the answer as to how I personally would like to be remembered, at least, not until now that I am writing this article.

Simply because, as time goes by, I am realizing more and more that oppressive forces are becoming increasingly more prevalent and intertwined in the fabric of our society whose main aim is to bombard us and cause our faith to waiver as Christians. They set up road blocks for us that unless challenged and fought against fiercely by the word of God, which is our weapon of warfare, they can leave us feeling helpless and defeated. But along with being clothed in the whole armour of God, perseverance must be put on and worn at all times as the badge of a true saint. God's ways and His thoughts are not just for us at the outset, but must be consistent and continued for as long as we live. The same way with the great Napoleon who said, "Conquest has made me what I am, and conquest must maintain me," so it must be with each one of us as true believers.

I do not know your thoughts on this but I personally may never receive a badge of honour as the many men and women who time and time again risk their own lives in service to defend their country, state and their friends and loved ones. They are heroes and by all means, they must be given the recognition and the honour that they are so deserving of. But as a follower of Christ, you and I must be willing to rise each day to the occasion of giving our lives for the sake of others through prayer and by all other means and to defend those that are too weak to fight the cause. Not only should we seek to do good according to God's word but we must be ready to seek justice, rebuke the oppressors, defend the fatherless, and plead for the widow's wherever and whenever there is need to do so. (Isaiah 1:17)

I may never enter the hall of fame as the rich and famous do, but I most definitely would want to be remembered for my unwavering  faith in God and be spoken of for generations to come as one who made it into the hall of faith through perseverance.  I am not naive to think that there would not be challenges in life as ever so often there is, but as Abraham Lincoln quite rightly said, "Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any one thing."  The determination and the will to succeed must be from within yourself.

It is the job of Satan and his cohorts to try to insinuate that you are not doing good. One by one he will try to pluck the leaves of your blessing and cause it to look like autumn when it is really your season of spring time and harvest. He will constantly plague your mind and try to convince you to give up. The light that is shining brightly within you, and the rays of beauty that extends far into the borders of the north, south, east and west, he will try to tell you it is not making any sense so why not hide it under the bushel. But by all means, clothe yourself and be armed with the word of God. Don't give up! Never grow weary in what you are doing, you will reap if you faint not. Continue in the faith! Though it may be the mark of all of Satan's arrows, exercise it, grow in it, and persevere in it!

I Am A Child Of Destiny

Ever so often in Christiandom you and I would hear some mention of the word destiny. There are mentions such as, "Destiny is about to be birthed in you," "your destiny awaits you," or when something happens to another person, especially in tragic incidents,  you hear, "destiny was meant to be." But what really is destiny and what is its association with mankind for that matter? What is God's perspective on this?

In my search for the truth, Colliers Dictionary states destiny as a) the seemingly inevitable or necessary succession of event; b) what will happen to any person or thing, ones' fate; c) that which determines event; seed of either a supernatural agency or necessity. My on line research concluded with the following that destiny is a) something that is to happen or has happened to a particular person or thing; b) the predetermined, usually inevitable or irresistible course of events; c) The power or agency that determines the course of events.

From a biblical perspective, the bible clearly links destiny without fail to prophecy, that is, the word of God itself which every individual is predestined to live up to and pursue as his/her appointed destiny. All people born on the planet do have a destiny that their own choices and circumstances eventually reveals to them. Revealed yes, because God is the one who holds our destiny in His hands. He is destiny, the same yesterday, today and forever more. You and I cannot escape what destiny holds for us. And whether a person answers when destiny calls, is dependent upon ones' determination to explore and make the right choices.

The Apostle Paul says, [God] "Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasures of his will....In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will." (Ephesians 1:5, 11)

This explains that God Himself predetermined a succession of events, situations and circumstances that would take place in every aspect of His creation, but more so, in the life of every believer. Destiny includes each one of us and what is meant for us at the end. It includes our posterity as heirs with God and joint heirs with Jesus and heirs of that destiny once it is fulfilled, or perhaps lost, if left unfulfilled.

Its fulfilment relies on more than the performance of ones' call. Its success depends on equipment, training and skills each person must identify, acquire, and refine to excel in what they were born to do. It is usually evidenced by what a person not only does well, but thrives on doing. It exceeds hobby by being the only solace, gratification, or enthusiasm a person receives or has for anything. It gives value, merit and meaning to your life. It becomes a refuge and an outlet at the same time.

So like the Apostle Paul, let us follow after that for which we have been apprehended, forget about what is behind us, for it is past, and let us reach forth unto those things that are before us and press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. You are a child of destiny!

Maximize Your Potential

Gloria Stienman once said, "The future depends entirely on what each of us does everyday." James R. Cook said this, "Do just once what others say you can't do and you will never pay attention to their limitations again." Then most recently, Bishop Dale Bronner of Word of Faith Family Cathedral in Austell, Georgia, USA said, "Potential is what lies with you but has yet to be brought out. The discovery of potential leads us to purpose. Purpose leads us to power."

While I could find no match in God's word for potential, it was revealed into my spirit that there is a direct and absolute corelation between potential and your purpose with the sum total effect being power! In addition, based on the Lord's declaration in Romans 8: 28, it has been established that, ".....all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." Potential is providentially linked to your purpose, as designed by God. The more that He releases you into your purpose, it is the more that your potential will be maximized and His power released through you. With that being said, I prophetically declare to you today that you are not just an ordinary person. You were created in the image and after God's likeness with great streams of hidden potential and power that is yet to be tapped into.

Know also that it is all things that will work for you, whether it be past, present or what is to come. You may think that you do not have the recognition right now but be assured that it is the good, the bad and the evil that will work in your favor, no matter how long it takes. It says too that we are never to be afraid of the trials and the tests that we face with each day. As a point of reference, Joseph was thrown into a pit by the very people that he loved most. They were his own brothers. But this was God's intent and part of His divine plan that the pit would catapult him in the end into his purpose. And through his purpose being unlocked, he was able to both release and maximize his God given potential and reign in power in the king's palace.

No longer then can you and I allow our minds to be fed with negative thoughts and the harsh criticisms that others tend to unleash at us. I have learned from my own experience that a persons perception of you can be as great or as small as the way that they percieve themselves. And paying attention to the limitations that they place on us as individuals, would only hinder the flow of God's presence, His purpose and plan with devastating results that potential instead of it being realized and maximixed to its fullest capacity, lies dormant in obscurity, and remain unrealized.

Someone once said that the graveyard is the richest place on earth. There is some measure of truth to that. That is because so many die without realizing their dreams, and the possibilities of what could have been had they allowed the relative voltage of potential within them to be released. Perhaps no one even recognized the gift within them. But I encourage you to come out from beneath the shadows. The potential and the power within you is potent! You are potential, maximize it and witness the impossibilies and the miraculous that God Himself would bring to fruition through you.

The Power Of A Mother's Love ~ She's God's Superwoman

In just a few days, May 13th 2012, women all over the world will be honored, recognized, and celebrated on the one day set aside each year called Mother's Day. The flowers have been cut and ready to be delivered. The cards are already arriving, filled with sentiments and expressions as tokens of appreciation for the years of her hard work and dedication, her duties as a mother, a wife and best friend. Nothing or no one surpasses her love. The power in it is undeniable, the results of it are incredible, irresistible, and more so, irreversible!

If you were hanged on the highest hill, a Mother's love will follow you still. You never know how she will get there but rest assured, she will.  Imagine if you were being drowned in the deepest sea, a Mother's tears will come down to save you! Ever need healing for your body and soul, just think about it, it's a Mother's prayer that would make you whole. The power of a Mother's love, she is God's superwoman! She is the one who can take the place of all others, but whose place no one else can take. A Jewish Proverb says, "A mother understands what a child does not say." Wow, she's a superwoman!
Alicia Keys singing 'Super Woman'
Mothers, God's earthly life-giver and care-giver. Nurturers, mentors, extra-ordinary compassionate heroes, healers, teachers, peace makers, and comforters. The one to give counsel to the wise and even the prudent. Mothers, you give love without looking for it in return. You are women of strength, ready to give help and support where it is needed. You go above and beyond the call of duty and always know how to get the job done with excellence. You love us even when there is no good reason you can find in us.You are irreplaceable! The strength of a woman, you are God's chosen!

Concept of Mother's Day
No one can really pin this one down, but here is what research found. It has evolved over the years into three developmental stages.
1.) Ancient times - Festivals honoring mothers and mother goddesses were in place. The Phrygians held a festival for Cybele, the great Mother of the gods, as did the Greeks for the goddess Rhea. Likewise, the Romans adapted the practice to their own pantheon.
2.) During the middle ages - The custom developed of allowing those who had moved away, to visit their home parishes and their mothers on 'Lactare Sunday,' the fourth Sunday of Lent. This became Mothering Sunday in Britian, where it continued into modern times, although it has largely been replaced by Mother's Day.
3.) Modern times - In its modern form, the day originated in the United States, where it is observed on the second Sunday in May. The American version in Mother's Day was started by Julia Ward Howe after the American Civil War. Many other countries celebrate the holiday on the second Sunday, while some mark the observance at other times of the year. Anna Jarvis of Philadelphia whose mother had organized women's groups to promote friendship and health, originated Mother's Day. On May 12th 1907 she held a memorial service at her late mother's church in Grafton West Virginia. Within five years, virtually every state in the USA was observing the day and in 1914 President Woodrow Wilson made it a national holiday. http://www.chiff.com/a/mothers-day-history.htm Here is a poem entitled:
 'A Mother's Love'
There are times when only a Mother's love
Can understand our tears
Can soothe our disappointments
And calm all our fears.
There are times when only a Mother's love
Can share the joy we feel.
When something we've dreamed about
Suddenly becomes real.
There are times when only a Mother's faith,
Can help us on life's way.
And inspire in us the confidence
We need from day to day.
For a Mother's heart and a Mother's faith
And a Mother's steadfast love
Were fashioned by the Angels
Sent from God above.
-Author unknown-

Thank God for Mothers. You are the best. Know that you are loved and respected. God's blessings and favour are upon you. Thank you for being my Mother, my best friend and confidant, my big sister to look up to, my little sister to teach you, my aunt, my niece, my cousin, my grandma with your rich heritage. You are very special MOTHER, I love you! "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, ......Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all." (Proverbs 31)

You Are Destined To Overcome

"And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God,  and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony....." (Revelation 12:10-11)
All too often the trials and testing that you go through in life can overwhelm you and bring you to a point where you feel 'small' and weak, like all your strength is gone. You may look to the left and then to the right and can find no one to help you. You may even find yourself speechless, because it is almost as if you have prayed every prayer, sang every song and having done all that, God's response seems slow at a time when you most need it to come speedily.

But through the words of Isaiah He [God] gives these comforting words, "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God; I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Behold all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing: and they that strive with thee shall perish." (Isaiah 41:10-11)

We cannot see Him, but He is right there. He has given to every believer the power over the enemy, the power to tread upon demons, scorpions and every power of darkness. At times we may take up deadly serpents and may even swallow deadly things, but according to the word of God in the gospel according to Mark 16:18, they shall not harm us. Fear has no more dominion over us. We have been perfected in His love and it is that perfect love that cast out all fear. [1 John 4:18] Let faith arise today!

There is no need to walk around feeling helpless and defeated, just know that you are destined to overcome and you shall have great success. It was Winston Churchill who once said these words, "Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm." You cannot give up now! God uses our past failures as the building blocks and the stepping stones to propel us into our future that is bright and filled with hope of the many wonderful things that He has in store for each one of us.

Owning up to the fact that you have made mistakes along the way is not a sign of weakness, rather it is an indication that you have integrity and good character. Our past experiences may have brought us great pain then, but today we can definitely say that experience has become our greatest teacher and the lessons that life has taught us, they are priceless.

Never give up hope, never fear, only you must trust and obey. You are pregnant with potential! Your dream will not die! You are destined for greatness, so begin to tap into, unlock and then release the God-given potential that is in you! You are destined to overcome every obstacles you've had, and every set backs! By faith begin to activate the gifts that are in you that have been dormant for years, perhaps even decades.

Begin to live life in the 'above and beyond realm' with the knowledge and the power that's in the word of God that we are the accepted and the beloved of God who are seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus our Lord. [Ephesians 1:6; 2:6] See yourself daily dwelling in the secret place of the most high and abiding under the shadow of the Almighty God. [Psalm 91:1

He is not caught off guard or taken by surprise by your 'now' circumstances. What you are experiencing are contractions (labour pains) of what God is about to birth through you. And just like how the wicked one (accuser) was cast down after trying to make war in heaven with the woman who was pregnant and about to give birth to her child, so it is God knew before what you would experience. He also knew that you too will overcome the wicked one by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of your testimony.

So  open up your mouth, taste and see that the Lord is good, His truth is everlasting and His mercies endureth forever throughout all generations. Wait it out on the Lord and do not compromise. In spite of it all, God is great and greatly to be praised and adored. See the new you, destined to overcome!
