The Power Of A Mother's Love ~ She's God's Superwoman

In just a few days, May 13th 2012, women all over the world will be honored, recognized, and celebrated on the one day set aside each year called Mother's Day. The flowers have been cut and ready to be delivered. The cards are already arriving, filled with sentiments and expressions as tokens of appreciation for the years of her hard work and dedication, her duties as a mother, a wife and best friend. Nothing or no one surpasses her love. The power in it is undeniable, the results of it are incredible, irresistible, and more so, irreversible!

If you were hanged on the highest hill, a Mother's love will follow you still. You never know how she will get there but rest assured, she will.  Imagine if you were being drowned in the deepest sea, a Mother's tears will come down to save you! Ever need healing for your body and soul, just think about it, it's a Mother's prayer that would make you whole. The power of a Mother's love, she is God's superwoman! She is the one who can take the place of all others, but whose place no one else can take. A Jewish Proverb says, "A mother understands what a child does not say." Wow, she's a superwoman!
Alicia Keys singing 'Super Woman'
Mothers, God's earthly life-giver and care-giver. Nurturers, mentors, extra-ordinary compassionate heroes, healers, teachers, peace makers, and comforters. The one to give counsel to the wise and even the prudent. Mothers, you give love without looking for it in return. You are women of strength, ready to give help and support where it is needed. You go above and beyond the call of duty and always know how to get the job done with excellence. You love us even when there is no good reason you can find in us.You are irreplaceable! The strength of a woman, you are God's chosen!

Concept of Mother's Day
No one can really pin this one down, but here is what research found. It has evolved over the years into three developmental stages.
1.) Ancient times - Festivals honoring mothers and mother goddesses were in place. The Phrygians held a festival for Cybele, the great Mother of the gods, as did the Greeks for the goddess Rhea. Likewise, the Romans adapted the practice to their own pantheon.
2.) During the middle ages - The custom developed of allowing those who had moved away, to visit their home parishes and their mothers on 'Lactare Sunday,' the fourth Sunday of Lent. This became Mothering Sunday in Britian, where it continued into modern times, although it has largely been replaced by Mother's Day.
3.) Modern times - In its modern form, the day originated in the United States, where it is observed on the second Sunday in May. The American version in Mother's Day was started by Julia Ward Howe after the American Civil War. Many other countries celebrate the holiday on the second Sunday, while some mark the observance at other times of the year. Anna Jarvis of Philadelphia whose mother had organized women's groups to promote friendship and health, originated Mother's Day. On May 12th 1907 she held a memorial service at her late mother's church in Grafton West Virginia. Within five years, virtually every state in the USA was observing the day and in 1914 President Woodrow Wilson made it a national holiday. http://www.chiff.com/a/mothers-day-history.htm Here is a poem entitled:
 'A Mother's Love'
There are times when only a Mother's love
Can understand our tears
Can soothe our disappointments
And calm all our fears.
There are times when only a Mother's love
Can share the joy we feel.
When something we've dreamed about
Suddenly becomes real.
There are times when only a Mother's faith,
Can help us on life's way.
And inspire in us the confidence
We need from day to day.
For a Mother's heart and a Mother's faith
And a Mother's steadfast love
Were fashioned by the Angels
Sent from God above.

Thank God for Mothers. You are the best. Know that you are loved and respected. God's blessings and favour are upon you. Thank you for being my Mother, my best friend and confidant, my big sister to look up to, my little sister to teach you, my aunt, my niece, my cousin, my grandma with your rich heritage. You are very special MOTHER, I love you! "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, ......Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all." (Proverbs 31)
