Action Requires Believing

Over the years I've come to realize how delicate life can be. One minute you can be here, everything seems to be going well with you - you have a great paying job, your marriage and your love life is intact, you have the support of family and friends, and the next minute, everything is gone. All that you would have accumulated in life is left behind, passed on to either family, friends or to charity.

The question I ask then as I look around today is, how then can someone who have a dream, and have it for many years, waste time and rather than pursuing their own dream, they glory in someone else's? They celebrate others while all this time they are wasting time sitting on ideas worth millions of dollars.

It was Steve Jobs who once said, "Your time is limited, don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma, which is living the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other people's opinions drown your inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition, they somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."

"Dreams can take you to the corners of your smiles, they can take you to the highest of your hopes, to the windows of  your opportunities and to the most special place your heart has ever known." ~ (unknown)

Can Bad Be Mistaken For Good When You're Down Low?

So many of us at times find ourselves in that place where life makes no sense! We have a serious brush with the thorns, the thickets and suddenly the roses are gone, no where to be seen, and their fragrance disappears into the thin air. We want life to always go in our favor, yet it don't. We agonize deeply about finding our big break in life, finding our life passion and that 'AHA' moment when we say this is it for sure! That candid moment that would somehow satisfy our appetite of longing to be in the spotlight before the world that finally you and I have found our calling and we are doing what God has called us to do.

Then there are other times, as gifted as you and I are, there are circumstances in the 'real low moments' that gives rise to the occasion of you questioning yourself in a way that denotes fear rather than faith that goes something like this, "how can someone as gifted as I am go through such kind of hell?" "why do bad things always seem to happen to good people?" "Why would God allow this to happen to me?" "Is it possible that all the hell that I am going through, one thing after another, that this is what God has planned and this is my purpose for my life?"

Are You Ready For Your Breakthrough?

I am a firm believer that our words have the power to create, and bring into manifestation whatever God has promised to us in His word, while at the same time, words are potent enough to destroy anything and everything in it's path. Words are like magnet and when released into the atmosphere, they remain suspended until the right moment of dispensation, we witness the harvest in our life. It is upon this premise that I present to you today a series of faith confessions to build up your spirit man and for the releasing of unprecedented blessings in your life.

PRAYER:
Father God in the name of your Son Jesus Christ I release words of faith into the earth and I release spiritual seeds that brings both a spiritual harvest and a natural manifestation of your promises in my life.

A Priceless Treasure And Inspiration For A Lifetime

A little over a decade ago, a former College class mate and friend gave to me a gift that I now consider to be a priceless treasure and inspiration for a lifetime. It is one of those rare instances, that even though we both went our separate ways, and have since then lost connection with each other, the treasure and the memory lives on. The treasure I speak of was a copy of the "DESIDERATA" neatly framed. The many times that I have read it and allowed the words to soak into my spirit, is countless.

The words are powerful indeed, while at the same time calm and reassuring. Assuming you may have read it before, I am almost certain you will agree with me that the entire poem is motivating, and inspiring and, a few more adjectives that you may wish to add. The truth be told, for me this is a poem that I have turned to so many times to lift me up and revive my spirit when at times I just felt so cast aside and downtrodden.

Not Made To Be Broken: Built To Withstand!

"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." (2 Corinthians 12:9)

I am always so very encouraged by this word. It somehow lifts my spirit every time that no matter what I may be going through or how bleek it looks on the outside, this is a word that illuminates in my heart, that God has formed and fashioned me and every other human being on planet earth to withstand. I realize the best version of me when I am under pressure. It works everytime, whether in the secular arena on the job or at home in domestic affairs.

I've had occasions where I was given an assignment, I go through the motion of picking up the assignment in an attempt to work on it and for some reason, the motivation is just not there. But just as I am approaching the deadline, and I am pressured by the thought that I have to meet it, that is when my thoughts and creative juices begin to flow and the best work gets done. Can you relate to or identify with that?

Surely we may each come up against situations in life, we can become overwhelmed by whatever it is, we may get a bit bent out of shape, but my gaurantee to you is that you will not be broken, for you were made to withstand! To withstand every test, every trial, every storm of affliction, every adversary that comes against you, every wind that blows contrary to the will of God! Let each one glory in the trials and tests that come his/her way - for when we are weak, it is then God will perfect His strength in us.

We Run To You, No One Else Will Do.....

It is working out for your good right now! God has promised to us ALL things according to His plans. We must continue to take care of God's business first and foremost while He takes care of ours. It is upon completion of this, that He begin to add all things unto us that He already knows we have need of. Blessings!

Positivity, Power And The Potential For Change

"What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against" (Romans 8:31)

I am sure for many of you as it is for me, this is one of our favourite scriptures in the bible. We have quoted it when things were rough, when the mountains seemed too high to get over and when the valleys were too dark and deep and we just could not seem to find our way through. We have used it as a word weapon against our spiritual enemies with the hope that the army of our adversaries will back up and back away from us.

A "Sparkle" Moment

Redemption, Restoration and Believing in your Vision! from The Potter's House of Dallas on Vimeo.

"You can have a gift, it's how you use it." "It takes a lot of faith to believe in yourself!" "I always knew you had the gift, don't loose it." (Quotes from Whitney Houston in the movie Sparkle) The words that sums it up best, "millions of star shine from the sky, but "Sparkle" is in the theatre." Be encouraged to go on out and see this movie in a theatre near you. Show some love and support for a great man of God, Bishop T.D. Jakes.

Thought For Today

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, bring peace for today, and create a vision for tomorrow." Melody Beattie

Don't Settle For Less When 'More Than Enough' Awaits You

You cannot win any game unless you are seriously committed to winning! Winning takes hard work, it takes dedication and much perseverance. There are those days when you would finish an assigned task and your face could become blemished by all the sweat, blood, tears and even the dust of the ground as you strive towards the mark and the prize of the high calling that God has established for you. And, getting towards the finish line could also mean a few stumbles, a fall or two, perhaps many falls but you should never settle for staying down in the rut, or accepting less than, when so much more awaits you. You  were born to win! You are destined to overcome! Every problem or trial that you encounter, God has already designed it so that you win.

A Choice To Make

Albert Einstein once said, "There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as if everything is."

While I do agree there is truth to his perspective, the bible on the other hand tells of two ways, - the straight and narrow way/road that leads the ones who takes it to eternal life in Christ, a promise of success, prosperity, and good health in the land and, the broad way that leads to destruction, chaos, confusion and death.

The Power Of Your Words

It was the dawning of a brand new day , a day heralded by the sweet serenading sounds and, the angelic tweets of the lone sparrow that chirped from the banister of the porch outside of my bedroom window, accompanied by her other friends that perched from the branches of one of the trees in the nearly forested backyard. My eyelids parted in that very moment. One glance and I quickly noted by the ashy grey look on the outside that I still had a few more minutes before I rolled out of bed for my morning meditation. But who could resist such impeccable sounds, much less sleep through them?

One moment of reflection and I thought, my goodness, they are singing! Then yet another fleeting thought, aah, they are speaking words of praise and adoration to their Creator, who it seemed they had knowledge that He was listening to every bird language words they tweeted. I may never understand a word they were saying, but sure enough, God understands!

Thought For Today

"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." (1 John 5:7) No matter what the enemy of your soul tries to tell you, he has no access whatsoever to your "files." If only he had, he would have messed it up, contaminated it a long time ago and you would have already miscarried and aborted the plan, purpose and destiny that God has for you.

Have a blessed day everyone! Peace and love!

A Perfect Game Plan

"Today is a new day.You will get out of it just what you put into it. If you have made mistakes, there is always another chance for you.And supposing you have tried and failed again and again, you may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we call 'failure' is not the falling down, but the staying down. " ~ Mark Pickford
Failure should never be considered as an option because no matter how high or how low we go in life, God is always there. He gives us the strength that we need each day. He gives us the courage to try again. If you've never tried, then you will never meet the winner that is inside of you. This does not mean that you and I will not meet with obstacles. But whatever obstacle you and I might come up against, no matter if it is a brick wall, don't ever throw your hands up and give up! Figure out the way how to get around it, climb up over it, or simply allow God to give you the faith to march around it like Joshua and the children of Israel did in days of old. (Joshua 6) Go forward in life and release the champion in you! "Be the change! Share Your Passion! Make a Difference!"

God's Got You On His Radar - Trust Him!

"I was regretting the past and fearing the future. Suddenly my Lord was speaking: "MY NAME IS I AM" He paused, I waited. He continued, "When you live in the past with its' mistakes and regrets, my name is not I WAS. When you live in the future, with the problems and fears, it is hard, I am not there. My name is not I WILL BE. When you live in this moment, it is not hard, I'm here. MY NAME IS I AM.".....A heartfelt apology can't change the past, but it can brighten the future! LORD FORGIVE ME FOR MY UNBELIEF."  (Michael Curtis) It was not luck and chance. It was not a coincidence either that as I opened up my facebook page today that this friend's post would "pop right up into my face to slap me back into reality."

Making A Golden Mark Into History

Grenadian born and bred Kirani James made history for himself and his country on Monday August 6th 2012 at the Olympic games in London by becoming the first athlete ever from the beautiful Spice Isle to win an Olympic Medal - it was not just an ordinary medal, it was pure gold! He made his golden mark into history when he coasted to victory in the men's 400 meters in a time of 49.94 seconds, the fastest time in the world this year in that event. He has also run the fastest 400 ever by any Caribbean sprinter.

It's A Sweet Love Affair...

Often times I get the inspiration from scripture verses to write in a poetic form, with the hope that it would tell the story of what I experience each day in relationship with our Heavenly Father. It's been a phenomenal experience, an amazing journey over the years I would say. It's a total surrender to one who I've never seen with my natural eyes, but through the eyes of faith, I believe that God exists! He is life, but larger than life itself. I believe that He is the supreme being - the one true living God who created all things (visible and invisible) and that He alone is the final disposer of all things.

"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy."  (1 Peter 2: 9-10)

Forgiveness Is Not An Option - It Is A Necessity (The Conclusion)

photo: thebelljar.tumblr.com
In Part 1 of this article the main key point looked at was the frequency which we ought to forgive those who have trespassed against us and in the even that we do not, how destructive it could be. In addition to the word of God, I have found out from my own personal experiences that forgiveness is the right thing to do physically, spiritually and socially. God also expects, or demands those of us especially who received incredible mercy from Him, to afterwards show mercy to others by forgiving them just as He has forgiven us. To say you can't forgive is to show yourself already completely destroyed by the adversary, the devil.

"About Role Models" - The Martini Chronicles' Perspective

Hi everyone, I hope you had a great weekend and you are ready for what lies ahead of you this week. As I was doing one of my usual bloghops around the web today, I stumbled upon The Martini Chronicles Blog and this very interesting article written by TheProDiva entitled About Role Models...The main thing that popped out at me was the author's summary of the characteristics of a true role model.(what it is and isn't).

Forgiveness Is Not An Option - It Is A Necessity (Part 1)

Now, I'm not a fly on the wall, so I really cannot say what goes on in a person's home, at the office, or any other place for that matter where people socialize on one level or another, or worse case scenario, where they get upset and angry with each other. But over the past week I've been having a lot of experiences with persons who in the end, I've had to just shake my head and say, "That's okay, I forgive you." There was this one young lady in particular, who was quite arrogant in her behavior towards me and who I felt in the beginning was not justified in 'blowing the roof' off my head. She realizing the error of her ways would later on humble herself and say to me, "I am sorry for the way that I behaved towards you."

Thought For Today

"The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers." - M. Scott Peck
